IB Results Day: What to Do With Any Grade
Results day brings relief for some and worry for others. Whatever your grades, you have options, and panic helps no one. Here is a clear plan for the day and the week after.
First, breathe and check carefully
Read your results properly before reacting. Note your total points and each subject grade, and check whether any university offer conditions are met.
If a grade looks wrong
You can request a remark, known as enquiry upon results. It can move a grade up, stay the same, or in rare cases move down, so weigh it where you are close to a boundary that matters for an offer.
- Act fast, as remark windows are short
- Prioritise subjects tied to a university condition
If grades are lower than hoped
Contact your university promptly. Offers are sometimes still honoured, and clearing style options exist. A retake is also possible for specific subjects in a later session.
Planning a retake
If you choose to retake, targeted coaching makes the difference. Wadhwa Institute runs focused revision and past paper practice for retake students. Book a free consultation to plan it.
